Dillon Brooks has become an integral member of the Phoenix Suns roster. He’s feeling ready to go up against the biggest superstars in the Western Conference.
The Phoenix Suns gave Dillon Brooks a fairly big contract extension this month. Having been acquired in the Kevin Durant trade, he made quite the impression in his first season.
Brooks has established himself as one of the main men on the Suns. As someone known for pesky defense and ability to set the tone, the Canadian star has also become a firm fan-favourite.
The 30-year-old has also been known to run his mouth, and that remains the same. His recent comments will be interesting to two of the NBA’s biggest young stars in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama.

SGA has tormented a lot of teams since ascending to superstar status. He and the Thunder send Brooks and the Suns packing in a sweep in the playoffs last season. But Brooks says he can handle his compatriot.
“If we get him again, it’s definitely going to be Shai,” Brooks said. “Even before he got to this level, because he’s one of the greatest in our game right now, I had his number. And I hope he watches this too.”
Brooks and Gilgeous-Alexander are teammates on the Canada Men’s National Basketball Team, and reportedly get along great. SGA will probably have something to say when he sees this clip, though.
Dillon Brooks says he’s going to become ‘more agitated’ with Victor WembanyamaWhat makes the Suns star so entertaining is his confidence. And in naming his rivals, he also added the San Antonio Spurs superstar to his list.
They haven’t enjoyed any famous battles yet, but Brooks is looking to change that in the future. He said as much during his interview.
“Little rivalry brewing up, I live for those,” Brooks said. “It’s probably going to be Wemby. You’re going to start seeing that become like a war. I’m going to get more agitated with him, you know.”
Very few players know how to get under their opponents’ skin quite like Brooks, so this will be interesting to see. Both SGA and Wemby are competitive themselves, so next season’s matchups could bring fireworks.
