Drag race driver, Discovery Channel personality killed at Ohio track

A popular drag racer and TV personality was killed in an accident at an Ohio raceway over the weekend.

Chris "Block" Gordon died in an accident on Saturday, Aug. 22 at KD Motorsport Park in Scioto County, the track shared on Facebook Sunday, Aug. 23.

"[P]lease keep his wife and family in your thoughts and prayers as we all try to mourn the loss of this good man an absolute legend of our sport," track officials wrote in the post.

The park, near the Village of South Webster, a few miles from the Ohio River, didn't release any details about the accident, but stated that trained medical staff, firefighters and EMTs were immediately at the scene when it happened.

Gordon was the owner of Block Motorsports in South Carolina, according to WOWK TV-13.

He also starred on the Discovery Channel show "Street Outlaws: Fastest in America," according to DragZine, where he was one of the team leaders.
