Earlier this week, UCLA men's basketball alumnus and future Hall of Famer Russell Westbrook retired from the NBA after 18 remarkable seasons, where he earned the respect of his colleagues along the way.

Since the Bruins legend called it a career, many professionals from across the sports world have reacted to the news, including three-time NBA champion Dwayne Wade.

“Man Russ is having one of the most underappreciated careers that we will see, for whatever the reasons are, just one of the G.O.A.T. careers because it’s customized and no one has one like it — like no one has a career like Russell Westbrook and no one plays the game like Russell Westbrook," Wade said. "He’s a 1-of-1. Whatever year he’s in — he’s still athletic, he still plays the game the same way when we first got introduced to Russ and it’s incredible to watch. One of the most athletic human beings we’ve ever seen.

“To me personally I still think Russell Westbrook is the greatest player in OKC history. Russ averaged four triple-doubles in four years. He did something that people said it will never ever be done again — he did it 4 times. He did something as a player in the league that no one ever thought was going to be done again.”

As Wade expressed so excellently, there will never be another brodie.

Back in March, Dwyane Wade called Russell Westbrook’s career one of the most underappreciated in NBA history. Today, those words hit different 👀

“In his own right, just one of the GOAT careers. Because it’s just customized and no one has one like it. No one has a career like… pic.twitter.com/KYBLmW6yY1
