The New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles have practiced together all week, an exciting time for two of the NFL's best teams.
The Patriots, who are coming off a Super Bowl loss, got to take on the 2024-25 Super Bowl champions.
There are many stars on both sides of the ball for both teams, including a reunion for A.J. Brown against his former team.
That was the story of the week, but Eagles star Saquon Barkley had a lot of other interesting things to say about why he didn't like joint practices with the Patriots and other teams around the NFL.
“I hate joint practices, to be honest,” Barkley said after Thursday’s session against the Patriots, per NJ.com.
“More times than not nothing good comes out of it,” Barkley said. “When you have the work it’s good, but then you get the pushing, the shoving and someone says this about you and it’s ‘I don’t know about that but you’re this.’ It’s immature when you get to that level. I have to do a better job, too, because I’m a little troublemaker sometimes, but I was good this week.”
As Barkley touched on here, and something that Patriots fans and players would probably agree with, the pushing and shoving gets to be a bit too much at times.
A lot of frustration goes around at these practices because guys are trying to win jobs, but hearing him flat-out say he hates joint practices is a bit interesting.
