Most Valuable Promotions has just officially announced their MVPW-07 card, which is scheduled as a quadruple championship event headlined by Alycia Baumgardner moving up to 135 to challenge Elif Nur Turhan for her IBF world title in a 10-round main event. The card will take place on November 8 at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas and stream live on ESPN.
Turhan (14-0, 8 KOs) is most recently coming off a unanimous decision win over Gabriella Tellez in June and says she’s well aware this will be a hard-fought battle.
“Alycia is a boxer who steps into the ring determined to win, never even entertaining the possibility of defeat; I know I am proud to be representing Turkey on such a major international stage as I face an opponent who steps into the ring solely for victory,” Turhan said. “I do not want to lose, either. As two boxers sharing a ‘win at all costs’ mentality, we guarantee a fierce, relentless battle where everything is left on the line. Two warriors, one fight, and only one winner.”
Baumgardner (18-1, 7 KOs) last beat Bo Mi Re Shin in April to defend her titles at super featherweight, but looks forward to performing even better up the scales in this lightweight fight.
“When I set my mind to something, I see it through, and 135 will be no different,” Baumgardner said. “Sunday, November 8 is a superfight—the kind of fight boxing deserves—and the beginning of my next chapter. I know what it takes to become undisputed. I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again. To everyone in Dallas-Fort Worth and Arlington, this is my backyard, and I want you there with me. Come out to College Park Center, be part of the moment, and watch me make history.”
The card’s co-main event will feature Tiara Brown (21-0, 11 KOs) making a 10-round WBC featherweight title defense against Ellie Scotney (12-0), Skye Nicolson (16-1, 3 KOs) making her MVP debut in a title defense against Miyo Yoshida (19-5, 1 KO), and Ramla Ali (11-2, 3 KOs) facing Mikiah Kreps (11-0, 3 KOs) in a vacant IBF and WBO title fight at 122 lbs.
