Enea Bastianini joins Trackhouse for 2027 MotoGP season after Tech3 exit

Enea Bastianini will join Aprilia’s stable in the 2027 MotoGP season, racing for its satellite Trackhouse team.

In a series of coordinated announcements on Monday, Tech3 KTM said that Bastianini will leave the squad at the end of the year, before Trackhouse revealed that it has signed the Italian on a two-year deal.

The seven-time grand prix winner will take the place vacated by Ai Ogura, who will represent Yamaha’s factory squad alongside 2024 champion Jorge Martin in MotoGP’s new 850cc era.

With this announcement, Trackhouse’s 2027 line-up is complete – the team had already announced an extension of Raul Fernandez’s contract at the beginning of this month.

“I am extremely excited to join the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team for the next two MotoGP Championships. Starting from the test in Valencia this year, it is going to be a real new challenge for me as we are entering a new era with a new bike, new tires and new regulations,” Bastianini said.

“For this, I am happy to bring my experience and my fighting spirit to Trackhouse so that we can develop the new Aprilia RS-GP together. The team has grown a lot during 2026 and it has become a title contender – for sure I will do my best for us to stay on top.”

Bastianini started his premier class career at Avintini Ducati in 2021, before success at Gresini earned him a promotion to the Italian marque’s factory team. Two mixed seasons marred by injuries led to his exit from Ducati, before he found a new home at Tech3 in 2025.

In these one-and-a-half seasons, he established himself as KTM’s second-best rider, albeit a long way off its star performer Pedro Acosta.

Bastianini is understood to have agreed terms with Trackhouse during the summer, but the American team was unable to announce the deal earlier for several reasons. KTM held an option on his services until the end of June, while Trackhouse was also focused on deciding Fernandez’s future, with the Spaniard only securing a new contract after improving his form this season.

With Fernandez and Bastianini in its line-up, the Aprilia squad will have two proven and experienced race winners to lead it into MotoGP’s 850cc era.
