Enes Kanter reveals Natasha Cloud’s Sophie Cunningham comment before he was removed from game

Former NBA center Enes Kanter explained his perspective on what happened between him and Natasha Cloud during the Chicago Sky’s game against the Indiana Fever.

Kanter made a huge show of attending the Sky vs. Fever clash in Chicago on Sunday, but was removed from the building in the second half after an interaction with Cloud.

Cloud aimed trash talk toward Kanter after a layup, while Kanter egged the 34-year-old Sky guard by standing up and spreading his arms, leading to his removal.

Kanter appeared on Fox News to discuss what happened between him and Cloud at the Sky game, with Kanter claiming Cloud made a Sophie Cunningham-related comment.

“The next possession, she came back and started yelling at me, ‘She is not going to sleep with you.’ Sophie Cunningham is not gonna sleep with me. I’m not trying to sleep with Sophie Cunningham; I want to make it very clear. Definitely not.”

Cunningham did have a 10-minute cameo in this game and is considered one of the main reasons that people like Kanter started paying attention to the WNBA over the trans athletes debate.

There is no trans athlete in women’s NCAA basketball, and there are no high-level trans athletes even in contention for a WNBA spot.

This entire debate has had no real basis for concern until Cunningham expressed her beliefs, prompting Kanter and Royce White to announce their intentions to exploit the language of the WNBA CBA to declare for the 2027 draft.

Kanter is continuing to press the WNBA for their vague eligibility guidelines by trying to enter the draft.

His appearance at the Sky vs. Fever game, and potentially future WNBA games, is to build public support for his cause.

The WNBA has openly addressed this situation and decreed that neither Kanter nor White would be eligible for the Draft.

Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the end of this situation, as Kanter had forewarned his intentions of challenging this decision in court.
