Manchester City star Erling Haaland is starting off the 2026-27 Premier League season with a new look, but fans are confused with his appearance.

The global soccer star is back in action this weekend as Man City kick off the English soccer campaign. However, Haaland is sporting a new haircut for the first time in awhile that has the internet in chaos.

Haaland posted a full video to his YouTube page Sunday debuting a buzzed haircut. Meanwhile, it’s a patently different look than what the soccer community is used to with his flowing, blonde hair missing.

The 26-year-old captivated the globe at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with his native Norway. The elite goalscorer helped his country reach the quarterfinals despite falling short against England.

Haaland’s undoubtedly one of the most recognized faces in his sport. That is why the sudden change in hairstyle is perplexing supporters.

The Norwegian has propelled himself into the same realm as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when it comes to international recognition. However, this change in hairstyle may take some time in getting used to.

In fact, Messi’s undergone similar changes throughout his career at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentina World Cup winner was previously known for his longer haircut before trading that in for blonde highlights.

Manchester City kick off their Premier League account Sunday against Bournemouth. Haaland and Co. enter their first season in years without Pep Guardiola leading the way, marking a major shift for the club.
