Every driver used by a winner on the PGA Tour in the 2026 season

The 2026 PGA Tour regular season has just wrapped up, the playoffs are upon us. And so we continue to chronicle each tournament to explore what equipment the pros used to win on tour throughout the year. In this case here, we're specifically curious about what driver was put in play as it provides a window into how pros use modern equipment to squeeze out any advantage possible in the race to winning a title. Throughout the year, we've been tracking the different makes and models used by each tour winner. Michael Brennan's victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship gave TaylorMade its 10th win, second most of any manufacturer. Titleist leads the count with 14 victories, followed by Ping with six. Callaway and Srixon have two and Cobra has one. Each week we'll provide a few details about the club and a key stat that provides some context on how the newly minted champion wound up in the winner's circle.

Scottie Scheffler, FedEx St. Jude Championship

Ben Jared

Driver: TaylorMade Qi4D (Fujikura Ventus Black 7X), 8 degrees

Key driving stat: En route to his second victory of 2026, Scheffler was a modest 11th in strokes gained/off the tee (2.251). Not bad considering this was his first official event with the TaylorMade Qi4D in the bag.

falseTaylorMadeQi4D$650|Golf Galaxy 5.0 GD SCOREGD HOT LIST SCOREHot List Gold$650The core model of the Qi4D family emphasizes stability on off-center hits and aerodynamic efficiency, a difficult combination made possible by the extensive use of lightweight carbon composite in the crown, sole and face.Four adjustable sole weights provide 26 grams of movable weight that can reduce spin, increase stability, change trajectory or mitigate left or right misses. An updated design of the slot in the sole (thinner in the middle and wider at the heel and toe) improves the way the lower portion of the face flexes compared to the Qi35. A new shaft-fitting algorithm, based on 11 million shots captured during the past two decades, analyzes the rate a golfer closes the face coming into impact and then matches that tendency to one of three shaft profiles to improve center-face contact. The composite face maximizes deflection thanks to a new variable-thickness pattern arranged through 60 layers of carbon composite.Part of that new face design includes added face curvature from the crown to the sole to produce more consistent speed, spin and launch on mis-hits.Thanks to softening the edge between the top of the face and the start of the crown, and the way the rear weight port is more tucked under the sole, the head moves through the air more efficiently to maximize swing speed.Top 5 in Sound/Feel, middle-handicapsMOI rating: High8, 9, 10.5, 12 degrees (with a 12-way adjustable hosel)BUY NOW DETAILS

Key driving stat: For the second straight week, an American younger than 25 claimed a first PGA Tour title. And Thorbjornsen's driver certainly helped as he ranked fourth in strokes gained/off the tee. He was seventh in driving distance (308.5 yards) and T-20 in accuracy (41 of 56).

Among the improvements here—beyond better overall stability on mis-hits on the heel and toe and high and low—is the increased use of carbon composite in the crown. Now stretching almost seamlessly to the top of the face, the crown saves weight to help increase stability on off-center hits and to lower the center of gravity for reduced spin and better energy transfer. The structure of the channel in the sole now gives more at impact to deliver extra flex to the face for faster ball speed, particularly on lower hits on the face.
