The New York Jets were so satisfied with the work of their starters on offense, including Geno Smith, that the unit only played one series against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But that's all it took for the group to impress, specifically their quarterback.
New York defeated Pittsburgh in a 17-0 final on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium. After not playing in his team's preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Smith started in Pittsburgh and was perfect.
Smith was 7-for-7 passing with 65 yards and a touchdown to tight end Jelani Woods.
That will build the confidence.
