Exeter City have signed wing-backs Vincent Harper and Lakyle Samuel on season-long loan deals from Walsall and Manchester City respectively.

Kenya international Harper, 25, rejoins the Grecians a year after being released by the Devon club.

He scored three goals in 65 appearances over a two-year spell at St James Park before leaving and agreeing a two-year deal at Walsall.

Left-sided Harper made 37 appearances in all competitions for the Saddlers last season.

England Under-20 right wing-back Samuel, 20, spent last season on loan at Bromley, making six appearances as they were promoted from League Two.

He is the son of the late former Aston Villa and Bolton player Jlloyd Samuel and has been at Manchester City's academy since he was eight years old.

"Vinnie is a player who is familiar with our fans and knows the football club really well and some of the current squad from his previous spell with us," Exeter manager Matt Taylor said.

"Although he is still young at 25, he will bring experience to the squad of playing in League One and Two. He will provide physicality and quality to the outside of the pitch, and he is an outstanding one v one defender."

He added: "Lakyle is someone who has had experience of League Two level and was part of Bromley's Championship-winning squad.

"This is the next stage of his development and he's a fantastic character. Everyone speaks very highly of him, he is humble, keen to improve and eager to learn."

Both players could make their debuts in Exeter's trip to Grimsby Town on Saturday.
