F1 is back! After nearly four weeks away, the sport finally returns to the Dutch GP at the iconic Zandvoort Circuit, albeit for the very last time. Stay with us throughout the Sprint weekend's sole Free Practice session as GPblog brings you the latest updates and exclusive insights straight from the paddock.
Many eyes will be on home racer Max Verstappen, especially after Thursday's bombshell announcement that the Dutchman will be staying at Red Bull until 2030. Red Bull have also had to make changes to their lineup this weekend, with Liam Lawson filling in for the injured Isack Hadjar, while Yuki Tsunoda returns to sister team Racing Bulls.
However, the championship battle takes centre stage once track action gets underway. Upon F1's return, 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers' standings by 50 points ahead of Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton, while his Mercedes teammate George Russell sits a further nine points behind in P3.
Despite reliability concerns, Mercedes restart the 2026 campaign in a strong position in the Constructors', 72 points ahead of challengers Ferrari. However, third-placed McLaren could be in the process of another remarkable mid-season turnaround after Lando Norris' dominant victory last time out in Hungary.
There is also the distinct possibility that drivers face wet weather conditions for the first time in the 2026 cars this weekend, with around a 50% chance of rain predicted for FP1, which gets underway at 12:30pm local time (11:30 UK).

Hours prior to the weekend getting underway, the FIA have released the document detailing all the upgrades teams have brought for the Dutch Grand Prix. Ferrari bring the most upgrades out of the front runners, while Alpine top the list overall, here is a complete rundown.
Ferrari have confirmed five performance upgrades for the Dutch GP, with the Scuderia introducing three changes to the SF-26's floor, as well as the diffuser and beam wing. At the front of the grid, McLaren are up next, confirming three upgrades at Zandvoort this weekend of the back of their Hungarian GP win. The changes are to the rear wing, engine cover, and rear corner.
Championship leaders Mercedeshave introduced only one update at the Dutch GP - to the front corner - in the hope of improving flow conditioning, while Red Bull also introduce a sole front corner change, but to improve reliability.
Meanwhile, Aston Martin continue their bid to turn their 2026 fortunes around, with five performance upgrades set to be implemented at Zandvoort, while Alpine top the overall list with eight updates. The Enstone team bring three relating to floor performance, and further performance upgrades to the diffuser, sidepod, rear corner, rear impact structure and rear wing.
