The Atlanta Falcons filled their last remaining open roster spot on Friday morning, signing defensive tackle Eric Johnson. A former fifth-round draft pick, Johnson spent three out of his first four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.
Falcons defensive line coach Nate Ollie was with Johnson in Indy during his first two NFL seasons, so Atlanta should know exactly what it's getting in the 28-year-old defensive tackle.
Since entering the league in 2022, Johnson has recorded 41 tackles (13 solo), three QB hits and one sack in 51 career games. At 6-foot-4, 320 pounds, Johnson has the size to play nose tackle for Atlanta and should provide some much-needed depth on the interior of the team's defensive line.
The team still had a spot available after placing running back Trey Sermon on the injured reserve list. Check out the Falcons' updated 90-man roster arranged by position group below.
