Fever win at Chicago, Mercedes Russell plays 14 minutes for Indiana

Indiana (25-14) defeated Chicago (15-23), 113-90, on Sunday at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. 9,248 were in attendance for the WNBA game.

Former Lady Vol Mercedes Russell played 14 minutes for the Fever in her fourth appearance since signing with the team on Aug. 10.

She recorded three points, one rebound and three assists. Russell converted 3-of-4 free throw attempts.

Indiana guard Caitlin Clark led all scorers with 37 points. She also recorded 10 assists, three rebounds and one steal. Clark converted 13-of-24 field goal attempts, 8-of-12 three-point attempts and 3-of-4 free throw attempts.

Kelsey Mitchell scored 30 points for Indiana.

Russell was selected in the first round of the 2018 WNBA draft (No. 22 overall) by New York. She played for the Liberty (2018), Seattle (2018-24) and Los Angeles (2025). Russell is a two-time WNBA champion (2018, 2020).

The former Lady Vol also played professionally in Turkey and China.

Russell played at Tennessee from 2013-18. She appeared in 120 games, including 87 starts. Russell is from Springfield High School in Springfield, Oregon.

Indiana will next play Friday versus Connecticut at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tipoff between the Fever and Sun is slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
