Former Clemson wide receiver gets another shot in NFL with Atlanta Falcons

Beaux Collins is getting another chance to make his mark in the NFL.

Atlanta announced Monday that it has added the former Clemson receiver, giving Collins a chance to continue his professional career after an injury complicated his first season in the league.

Collins spent his rookie year with the New York Giants after making the roster as an undrafted free agent. He saw action in nine games, but a neck injury suffered against San Francisco eventually brought his season to an early finish. New York placed him on injured reserve in November before parting ways with him through an injury settlement last week.

The move to Atlanta gives Collins an opportunity to reset after a difficult ending to what had been an encouraging start for an undrafted player.

Clemson fans know Collins best from his three seasons in orange. He became a regular part of the Tigers’ receiving corps and finished his time in the program with 91 catches, 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns. He appeared in 32 games, starting 27, and was on the roster when Clemson captured the ACC championship in 2022.

Collins elected to spend his final year of eligibility at Notre Dame, where he immediately became one of the Fighting Irish’s more productive receivers. He finished that season with 41 catches for 490 yards and three touchdowns as Notre Dame advanced all the way to the College Football Playoff national championship game.

After stops at Clemson, Notre Dame and New York, Collins’ next opportunity will come in Atlanta as he tries to turn a second NFL destination into a more permanent role.
