Thomas Castellanos, the former Florida State transfer quarterback, has committed to Texas Tech.
On3, citing sources, reported the news.
Castellanos, who led Florida State past Alabama in 2025, was granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA in Kentucky last week.
He was granted a a fifth year of eligibility as a result.
The Red Raiders are without quarterback Brendan Sorsby after stepping away due to a gambling addiction.
Castellanos went undrafted this past spring by NFL teams, and was not offered a contract after attending a rookie minicamp with the Miami Dolphins. He started 32 games at Boston College and Florida State from 2023-25, passing for 6,449 yards and 48 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,994 yards and 24 TDs.

Thomas Castellanos’ agent, Joe Hernandez, previously told On3 that Castellanos was open to being used as a wide receiver, too.
