Former Georgia Bulldog Jalen Carter has earned many honors in his early career with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he just earned another one. He was ranked No. 29 in the NFL's top 100.
Carter was ranked No. 43 in the NFL's top 100 players in 2025. However, in just 11 regular-season games, he had 33 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, and seven passes defended. Pro Football Focus (subscription needed) backs up his rise in selection, as he had 41 total pressures, ranking No. 17 among all defensive linemen. Carter still earned a Pro Bowl appearance in 2025.
That Pro Bowl appearance is already his second one, and he's earned a spot on the All-Pro second team in 2024 and was runner up to Will Anderson Jr. for 2023 Defensive Rookie of the Year. The Eagles paid him handsomely this offseason, signing him to a four-year, $152 million extension, the most money ever given out to a defensive tackle.
Carter is the fourth former Georgia Bulldog to appear on the NFL's top 100 list, joining Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens (No. 36), Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (No. 60), and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith (No. 65).
When he was at Georgia, he had the makings of an All-Pro talent. Through three seasons (2020-22), Carter earned 83 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks. He led Georgia to back-to-back national championships, and he earned a first-team All-SEC and a Unanimous All-American selection in 2022.
