The countdown to kickoff brings us to one of the hardest-hitting defenders in Steelers history: safety Ryan Clark.
Clark, who signed with the Steelers as a free agent in 2006, quickly cemented his name in the Steel City. During his eight-year stint in Pittsburgh, Clark recorded 66 combined tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and 12 interceptions, while also serving as one of the most underrated safeties of his era.
Clark played a major role on one of the most historic and feared Steelers defenses, one that reigned victorious over the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII. He also earned his lone Pro Bowl selection in 2011.
Clark, a selfless, team-first player, deserves to be recognized as the greatest Steeler to ever wear No. 25.
