The Texas A&M Aggies have landed one of their top targets in the 2028 recruiting class, securing a commitment from four-star quarterback Donald Tabron II, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Tabron committed to the Aggies on Saturday, picking them over the LSU Tigers and Oregon Ducks. The Detroit, Michigan native received a scholarship offer from Texas A&M on Oct. 5, the day after he unofficially visited College Station. He returned on June 7 for a camp before making his early commitment.
He is ranked as the No. 28 overall player and No. 3 quarterback in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 2 player from Michigan.
Tabron had an excellent sophomore season at Cass Technical, leading them to a 13-1 record. The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder threw for 2,819 yards and 35 touchdowns. In just 24 games, he has thrown for 4,475 yards and 52 touchdowns.
He is Texas A&M's second commitment in the 2028 cycle, joining four-star edge Chance Archangel. With Tabron in the fold, the coaching staff now has a quarterback they can build the class around. The Aggies have the No. 1 2027 recruiting class in the country, with 19 of their 26 commitments being four- or five-star recruits.
