Frattesi transfer from Inter to Lazio put on standby at the last minute

Davide Frattesi had been due in for a medical with Lazio on Friday ahead of a move away from Inter, but reports from multiple outlets confirm that the deal has hit a stumbling block as the Lega Serie A has not yet approved the transfer.

Frattesi transfer hits a stumbling block ahead of medical

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Sky Sport Italia and various others, the Lega Serie A has not approved of the transfer due to concerns surrounding Lazio’s financial situation.

Alfredo Pedullà specifies that the issue relates to Lazio’s position with the FIGC’s liquidity index.

Frattesi had been expected to join Lazio in a €15m transfer from Inter in a deal that would see the Nerazzurri retain a 50% sell-on clause. This was already a significant reduction in the asking price given that Inter had previously demanded €40m for the Italy international, later dropping that request to €30m.

A deal had been fully agreed between the relevant parties and Frattesi was expected to have his medical with Lazio on Friday. Some reports claim that the player is still expecting to board a flight heading towards the Italian capital this morning.
