Okay, it’s not funny anymore. The A’s have blown two late leads and now find themselves staring down the barrel of another series loss. No, a series sweep. To the Royals, who like us are in the cellar of their division. Where did the fight go?

It’s Gage Jump on the bump this afternoon. He’s slowly come out of his first real rough patch, pitching into the sixth and allowing just three runs to the Texas Rangers. He brings an overall 4.50 ERA into this contest, a number he’d like to get down by the end of the day.

Here’s how the A’s stack up for today’s finale:

No major surprises today. Bolte atop the lineup again, and our double play duo today will be Darell Hernaiz and Donovan Walton.

Meanwhile the Royals have right-hander Randy Dobnak going for them today. Dobnak, a longtime Twin, has bounced around for the past couple years but it making the most of his chance with Kansas City. In eight games the righty has tossed 41 2/3 innings and is sporting a pristine 1.73 ERA. He’s coming into this one on a high note as well after firing nearly six full shutout innings against the Angels last time out.
