Gavi, Pedri and Balde show their support after Barcelona winger’s ACL surgery

Barcelona winger Roony Bardghji has received support from several of his teammates after undergoing surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The Swedish forward suffered the serious injury during training on Monday and underwent an operation on Wednesday. He remains in hospital as he begins what is expected to be a lengthy recovery.

As seen through the player’s social media activity, the likes of Hector Fort, Gavi, Pedri and Alejandro Balde visited Bardghji at Hospital de Barcelona on Thursday to check on their teammate and lift his spirits following the operation.

The 20-year-old later shared a photo of the visit on social media, accompanied by a short message for the Barcelona players, “Love you guys, thanks for coming.”

The injury is a major setback for Bardghji, particularly at a time when his future was already uncertain.

A serious knee injury can be a difficult moment for any young player, and Bardghji’s Barcelona teammates made sure he was not left alone as he starts his recovery.

Fort, Gavi, Pedri and Balde took time to visit the Swedish winger following his ACL operation, offering their support as he faces several months away from the pitch.

The visit also shows the support around the young forward at Barcelona, where he will now need patience as he works his way back to full fitness.

This is expected to be a long rehabilitation process, with an ACL injury likely to keep him out for a significant period. 

His focus will now shift entirely towards recovery and ensuring that he returns without rushing the process.

Notably, the injury has disrupted Bardghji’s plans away from Barcelona.

The winger was not part of Hansi Flick’s immediate plans, with Lamine Yamal and Karim Adeyemi ahead of him in the battle for minutes on the right flank.

A move elsewhere had therefore been on the cards, but the torn ACL has now put those plans on hold. 

With the 20-year-old facing several months out, any decision over his future will likely have to wait until he has made progress in his recovery.
