Just a few days before the UConn documentary leak, Geno Auriemma shared his honest view on Paige Bueckers and their time together.

Paige Bueckers and Geno Auriemma spent five years together at UConn, navigating severe injuries, immense pressure, and national media scrutiny. Despite those challenges, they capped off things in 2025 by winning the national championship before Bueckers went No. 1 overall in the WNBA draft.

However, a newly leaked information from Apple TV’s upcoming docuseries The Dynasty: UConn Huskies exposes what was really behind that success.

The scene reveals a heated film session where Auriemma brutally attacked Bueckers’ personal character, resulting in her questioning whether she even wanted to be there.

Geno Auriemma tells fans about the real Paige Bueckers

Talking on SiriusXM radio, Geno Auriemma gave his brief side of the story on what it was like spending time with Paige Bueckers for five years.

“My former players, they come watch practice, come workout. They accuse me of being soft, and they’re right, I’m not proud of that, to be honest. But I don’t have it in me to keep up with some of these. I just said this earlier, I’d challenge anybody to put up with Paige for five years and not lose their s***.”

Of course, the snippet of the UConn documentary that came out involving Bueckers and Auriemma sounds shocking, but it would be interesting to hear Auriemma’s side of the story on that matter.
