The countdown continues, and we are now just 20 days away from the opening game for the Kentucky football team. As we count down the days until Sep. 5, we are getting to know the players on the roster, and today we're taking a look at No. 20, Terhyon Nichols.
Nichols is a 5'11", 194 lb cornerback out of Cincinnati, Ohio. As a recruit in the 2024 class, he was rated four stars by 247Sports and ranked as the No. 182 overall player in their composite rankings.
As such a highly regarded player, he had offers from a number of elite programs, including Ohio State and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Kentucky got a huge recruiting win by bringing him to Lexington, though.
In his freshman season, Nichols earned time on the field right away, playing in eight games. Then, last season, he took on a starting role until and injury forced him to miss some time. When he was on the field, he was solid, however, showing flashes of he talent he possesses.
Heading into 2026, Nichols is expected to be a full-time starter, and leader in the Kentucky secondary. He and safety Ty Bryant are joined by a terrific group of transfers that could form a formidable group of defensive backs in Lexington.
