Across the NFL, teams must trim their rosters to 53 players by a 6 p.m. deadline Sunday night.

New York announced its first wave of cuts Saturday morning, releasing eight players. The first moves came after a 23-6 preseason win over the Jets on Friday night, with the team expected to make additional cuts throughout Sunday.

As of Sunday afternoon, there has not been news of any transaction involving wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The 33-year-old wide receiver said he was thankful for the opportunity to be back with the Giants, adding “it’s in God’s hands” whether he makes the team following a three-catch, 53-yard performance against the Jets on Friday.
