CANTON − Tonight, GlenOak High School will compete against Cleveland Heights in their third and final matchup of the National High School Football Council Classic, a prestigious event showcasing schools with former players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This exciting game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

The National High School Football Council Classic brings together teams that have notable alumni who have made significant contributions to the sport. This year’s event highlights the rich football traditions of both GlenOak and Cleveland Heights, as they each boast a Hall of Famer among their ranks.

GlenOak's representative is Dan Dierdorf, who played for Glenwood High School before the consolidation that formed GlenOak in the mid-1970s. Dierdorf went on to have a stellar college career at the University of Michigan and enjoyed a successful 13-year career in the NFL with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1972 to 1983. He was recognized for his outstanding performance as an offensive tackle, earning six Pro Bowl selections and a spot on the NFL's 1970s All-Decade Team.

On the other side, Cleveland Heights is represented by Tom Mack, a former standout at Michigan who had a distinguished career as a left guard for the Los Angeles Rams from 1966 to 1978. Mack’s impressive resume includes 11 Pro Bowl selections, underscoring his dominance during his playing days. Additionally, Cleveland Heights fans are optimistic about the future Hall of Fame prospects of Travis Kelce, the 11-time Pro Bowl tight end currently playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

As the season progresses, GlenOak is looking to bounce back after facing tough losses in their earlier games. They began the season with a defeat against Dover, losing 36-21, followed by a challenging matchup against Massillon, where they fell 54-7. This game against Cleveland Heights presents an opportunity for GlenOak to turn their season around and gain momentum heading into the remainder of their schedule.

The upcoming games for GlenOak include a home match against Canton McKinley and road games against Lake, Hoover, and Jackson. Each of these contests will be crucial as the team aims to improve their record and build confidence as they navigate the season.

Fans and supporters are encouraged to follow the live updates throughout the game, as both teams look to make a statement in this high-stakes matchup. The outcome of this game could have significant implications for both teams as they strive for success in the competitive landscape of high school football.
