Grizzlies Garage Sale happening Saturday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Grizzlies fans looking to add something unique to their collection will have their chance as the team opens the doors to FedExForum for its annual Grizzlies Garage Sale.

The sale runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 22, with Grizzlies MVP Season Ticket Members getting early access beginning at 10 a.m.

From autographed memorabilia and past team merchandise to some unexpected finds, Grizzlies Vice President of Community Engagement Abusheri Ohwofasa said fans will have plenty to search through.

“There’s so many items that people can expect to buy,” Ohwofasa said. “We’ve got lunchboxes, posters, TVs. Most importantly, autographed items.”

That includes full-team signed basketballs from previous seasons, furniture, novelty items and even custom Grizzlies yoga mats.

Ohwofasa said the team has held the garage sale for more than five years, and this year's sale has no shortage of options.

“You never know what you may find,” Ohwofasa said. “A lot of times people say another man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and I know that there are going to be a lot of treasure items here for fans.”

Beyond giving fans a chance to take home a piece of Grizzlies history, the sale will also raise money for programs serving the Memphis community.

“All the proceeds will go towards helping education programs, mentoring programs within Memphis,” Ohwofasa said. “We’re doing our part in helping to move the city forward.”

Fans are encouraged to arrive early, because organizers expect lines. Shoppers can also find select merchandise for up to 40% off at the Grizzlies Den. The event will even feature local food trucks.

Parking will be free in the Gossett Motors Parking Garage. FedExForum is a cashless venue, so shoppers should bring a credit or debit card. Fans do not need to bring shopping bags. Bins will be available while people shop, and bags will be provided for purchases.

All garage sale purchases are final and must be taken home the same day.
