Guadalajara made its dominance count at TSM Stadium, defeating Santos Laguna 1-0 in Matchday 4 of the Apertura 2026. With the victory, the Rojiblancos picked up three valuable points and continued their climb up the Liga MX standings.
True to their style, the Rebaño Sagrado came out looking to take control from the opening whistle. Gabriel Milito’s side pushed forward and looked to create danger in the final third. Although Guadalajara went into halftime without finding the breakthrough, the team maintained its intensity and continued searching for the opening goal.
The reward for that persistence came in the second half. Santiago Sandoval produced a brilliant individual play inside the box, using a feint to beat his marker before drawing a foul that resulted in a penalty. Ricardo Marín stepped up from the spot and calmly converted to score the goal that secured Guadalajara’s victory in the Comarca Lagunera.
Guadalajara’s next match will be at home. On Saturday, August 22, the Rojiblancos will welcome Tijuana to Estadio AKRON, where they will look to claim another victory in front of the entire Rojiblanco Nation. The Goal
