SV Hamburg have signed Nigerian forward Terem Moffi from French side Nice, the Bundesliga club said in a statement on Monday.

Most recently, the forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Porto.

"Terem is an excellent fit for our approach. With his signing, we are giving ourselves even more options and versatility in the centre-forward position and further increasing the quality of our squad," board member for sport Kathleen Krüger said.

Hamburg didn't disclose details of the deal, but according to media reports, Moffi signed a contract until 2029.

"Even though Hamburg spent a few years in the second division, the club is still a big name, and that is the case all over the world. When I told my father about the club's interest, he immediately knew which club I was talking about and was really excited," the player said.
