Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Purdue fans and fans across the country.

Purdue football has been in a bad way for a number of years now. It’s been roughly since the Eisenhower administration since Purdue won a Big Ten game. You might have to fact check me on that. Purdue has not even sniffed a bowl game, remember you only have to be 6-6 (or sometimes even 5-7) to make a bowl game. One of the reasons for that is Purdue consistently plays some tough teams in their non-conference schedule. One of those teams has been Notre Dame. Obviously the series has taken breaks in recent memory but it’s back now and Purdue football finds itself at one of its lowest points possibly ever. So, the question needs to be asked, should Purdue discontinue the Notre Dame series and replace them with a cupcake? If for no other reason than to get a win on the schedule and maybe even one day reach a bowl game again?
