Hannah McNair has taken on a significant new role as the Houston Texans gear up for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. McNair, who serves as the Chief Community Officer and Vice President of the Houston Texans Foundation, has been appointed Co-Chair of the NFL’s Flag Football Committee.
This committee, co-chaired by McNair and Kalen Jackson, the Owner and Chief Brand Officer of the Indianapolis Colts, is tasked with overseeing the expansion and commercialization of flag football on a global scale. This initiative is part of the NFL's broader strategy to promote the sport, especially as flag football gains traction among various demographics.

McNair’s appointment comes after her involvement with the NFL’s Flag Football Working Group, established in 2025 to manage the sport’s rapid growth and its inclusion in the 2028 Olympics. The transition from a working group to a formal committee underscores the league's commitment to advancing flag football, which has seen a surge in interest and participation.
A passionate advocate for women’s and youth sports, McNair has played a pivotal role in the girls flag football movement in Texas. She has been instrumental in establishing a pathway for the sport to become a sanctioned high school offering throughout the state. Since the inception of the Texans’ Girls Flag Football Program in 2023, participation has skyrocketed by over 1,525%, showcasing the program's success in uniting schools, educators, community partners, and student-athletes to create lasting opportunities for girls in sports.
The Houston Texans are set to kick off their regular season against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, September 13, at Reliant Stadium. McNair’s new role could further enhance the Texans’ community engagement and commitment to promoting sports among young athletes.
