Dallas Wings star Azzi Fudd has received bad news regarding her knee injury, and WNBA fans have a lot of sympathy for her.
Azzi Fudd was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. As such, the entire WNBA world was watching how her rookie season would unfold.
Following some uncomfortable initial adjustments, Fudd has established herself as a starter. She has impressed, averaging 13.1 points per game over 30 games.
The Dallas Wings have been competitive as a team, too. Qualification for the playoffs looks like a strong possibility, but now they will have to do it without their 23-year-old star.

“Azzi Fudd will miss the remainder of the regular season and will undergo an arthroscopic procedure to address ongoing right knee soreness,” ESPN reported. Naturally, fans weren’t happy to hear this.
“Brutal… She was playing great once she found her way into the starting lineup,” a fan said. “Hate to see it. Azzi Fudd finally gets some momentum and now has to deal with another knee issue,” another wrote.
“That’s so rough. A great year for Dallas gets corrupted by this,” a third fan lamented. “Pretty much ends Dallas chance at a run this postseason,” a different comment claimed.
“Get healthy young GOAT! Destroy ‘em next season,” a supportive reply said. “Praying for Azzi Fudd and her only. Bless her soul and mental strength,” a sixth fan said.
This situation is concerning because Fudd has a history of knee injuries going back to her time with UConn. For now, her focus will be on recovering fully and getting ready for her sophomore season.
