‘He Really Hated [John] Harbaugh’ — Ravens Fans Believe Rashod Bateman Just ‘Downright Trashed’ Former Head Coach

Rashod Bateman’s comments about the Baltimore Ravens’ new coaching staff have caught fans’ attention, with many interpreting them as a subtle criticism of former head coach John Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is now with the New York Giants, with Jesse Minter taking over as the Ravens’ new head coach. Bateman’s praise for the new regime has only fueled the discussion about what may have been missing under the previous coaching staff.

Bateman highlighted the emphasis on details under Minter and his coaching staff, making a clear comparison with previous years.

“Very detail-oriented team. From the head coach to OC to receivers coach, everybody harps on the details and the small things. That’s just not what we were in the past,” Bateman said.

Bateman also explained how new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle has changed his role in the offense.

“I’m moving around all over the place. In the past, I’ve been a one-dimensional receiver. I feel like he sees my talent. As a receiver, you want somebody to believe in you, to see your ability. I’m in the slot, outside. That’s a blessing for me. I appreciate him for doing that, so I get to show my talent more and more.”

While Bateman didn’t criticize Harbaugh by name, some Ravens fans immediately connected the dots.

One fan believes Bateman was finally speaking openly about his experience under Harbaugh. “You know what? [Expletive] yeah! Rashod Bateman. You are alright in my book. Only player I know to win the politics war against John Harbaugh.”

NFL analyst Marcus Whitman also noticed the growing number of comments from Ravens players about the previous regime. “The amount of down-right trashing of John Harbaugh that I’ve heard from Ravens players this summer is eye-opening,” Whitman noted.

Another fan pointed to similar comments coming out of New York since Harbaugh took over the Giants. “It’s interesting to see these subliminals at John Harbaugh because the Giants locker room is basically saying the same thing has been missing in New York.”

NetworkMaster defended Bateman and argued that his comments were consistent with concerns the receiver had raised previously. “Y’all could never make me hate Bateman. He spoke out while John was still the Ravens HC. Bateman confirmed what many of us saw: they lacked discipline, accountability, and attention to detail under the previous staff.”

Bateman’s role has changed under the new staff, with Doyle moving him around the formation and giving him more chances to make plays. For the former first-round pick, the new approach could help him reach his potential.
