American Fork won the championship boys and girls team titles Saturday at the UIAAA Invitational at Spanish Fork Sports Park, one of the largest early-season meets on the Utah high school calendar. North Summit, Union Take Girls and Boys Titles at Duchesne Invitational

North Summit and Union each picked up team victories last week at the Duchesne Invitational, held on the 5K course in Duchesne.

North Summit sophomore Thea Sargent won the girls race in 20:36.04, finishing more than a minute ahead of South Summit’s Ruby Polloczek (21:38.50).

Union placed three runners in the top nine, led by Kaylee Nielsen (21:53.45) and Khyia Charles (22:04.26), but North Summit’s depth — four scorers in the top 12 — gave the Braves the team title at 36 points over Union’s 43. Provo (80), North Sevier (125) and Millard (147) rounded out the top five.
