The Denver Broncos were able to kick off their 2026 preseason with a resounding 27-7 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night.
The Broncos' battering of the Birds was the team's eighth-straight preseason win since the Sean Payton era began in 2023. Though the win doesn't count for regular season purposes, the Broncos started the game fast and never looked back, building a 24-0 halftime lead, a margin which proved insurmountable.
New offensive playcaller Davis Webb showed no fear with quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham or Sam Ehlinger, pushing the ball downfield, and balancing the run game with the passing attack, with rushes (designed or improvised) outweighing passes (38 rushing attempts to 29 passing attempts).
Several individual performances stood out, such as Stidham's nine-of-15, 131-yard, one touchdown performance, and cornerback Jahdae Barron's 97-yard pick six.
