Shannon Sharpe pulled no punches on Nightcap, accusing Enes Kanter Freedom of deliberately ragebaiting after his courtside ejection at the Indiana Fever game.
Shannon Sharpe made his name as a Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end, picking up three Super Bowl rings over an impressive 14-year NFL career.
After hanging up his pads, he successfully transitioned into a sports media powerhouse, becoming a dominant voice on First Take and building a massive audience on his Club Shay Shay platform.
However, he recently spoke out on the WNBA, including the recent baseline clash between Natasha Cloud and former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom.
Shannon Sharpe takes Natasha Cloud’s side after WNBA incidentTalking alongside former NBA player Joe Johnson on the Nightcap podcast, Shannon Sharpe claimed that Enes Kanter is a failed player who just wants some attention.
“He’s ragebaiting, then he’s gonna run to Fox News and talk about see this is what I’m talking about, they’re not inclusive, they wanna have their cake and eat it too. If you were good, you’d still be in the NBA. His own home country don’t want him back. He was a solid role player, but then he started having these beliefs and these talking points that the league is like, you not that good.”
Sharpe’s comment refers to the Turkish government revoking Enes Kanter Freedom’s passport and labeling him a political exile. Due to his criticism of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and ties to opposition figures, Turkey issued arrest warrants for Kanter, effectively banning him from returning home.
And while the WNBA have left themselves open for criticism and to be picked apart over their transgender position, it does seem as if Royce White’s agenda is to build his political profile.
