It's been a busy few weeks for NBA and (now) WNBA ownership. While the Los Angeles Lakers find themselves in an ongoing situation involving the Buss family's ownership and Jeanie Buss' role specifically, there's also a change in ownership coming to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx.
As ESPN's Shams Charania reported, Marc Stad will become the controlling owner and largest shareholder of the Timberwolves and Lynx after purchasing majority co-owner Marc Lore's stake for $4.5 billion. According to the report, Stad was a significant minority investor in both teams under the ownership group of Lore and Alex Rodriguez, through his Dragoneer Investment Group.

One specific detail that's been highlighted is that this change will lead to a new governor for the Timberwolves, in Stad's wife, Elisa Stad, as Charania reported. As for Lore, he will remain part of the ownership group in a limited role, according to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski.
Rodriguez's role appears to remain the same, and he'll pair with Stad as the lead owners of the two franchises. The Athletic also detailed some of Elisa Stad's background and history:
"Elisa spent two decades working around the globe as an executive in consumer branding before the couple co-founded the University of California-San Francisco’s Stad Center for Pediatric Pain, Palliative & Integrative Medicine," The Athletic wrote.
As for the Lynx, Rodriguez has been and will reportedly remain the governor of the franchise, which currently holds the best record in the WNBA. The deal involving Stad was highlighted more as a "reorganization of team structure" than as being similar to Mark Walter's current sale of the Lakers to Joshua Kushner and Bob Iger, according to The Athletic.
