The Little League World Series continues Sunday for Iowa's representatives from Davenport.

Davenport Northwest Little League is one of 20 teams competing in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It marks Iowa's 16th appearance in Williamsport and first since 2022, with the state still seeking its first Little League World Series title.

The Midwest Region champions beat a team from California 1-0 on Friday and will play a team from the New York Metro Region on Sunday. Cooper Thissen had 15 strikeouts and hit a home run to lead Iowa to its Friday victory.

The 2026 Little League World Series runs from Aug. 19 to Aug. 30. 

Who does Iowa play in the 2026 LLWS?

Representing the Midwest, Davenport opened tournament play Friday, Aug. 21 with a 1-0 victory against West Region champion Sweetwater Valley Little League of Bonita, California. On Sunday, Iowa will face a team from New Jersey representing the New York Metro Region.
