H.S. Roundup 8/18: Powell puts up 7 goals in Northmont win

Christopher Powell scored seven goals to power Northmont in a 9-1 win against Tecumseh in boys soccer on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Powell added two assists to his stat tally and Luke Siefert added a goal and two assists.

The win was the season opener for Northmont, which will host Princeton next on Satuday, Aug. 22.

Beavercreek 7, Waynesville 1: Brady Suarez had two goals and Ian Miller chipped in two goals apiece to lead ‘Creek in its season opener.

Fairmont 1, Lebanon 1: Tresor Shaka scored the lone goal for Fairmont.

Carroll 10, Jonathan Alder 2: Tadeas Fedorisin tallied four goals, Noely Oliver added three and Carroll moved to 2-0.

Badin 3, Madeira 1: Connor Boyle, Charlie Hall and Ian Long netted a goal apiece for Badin.

Tippecanoe 10, Greenville 0: Mason Mader and Wesley Mayer had two goals apiece and Lucas Stout notched the shutout for Tipp.

Fairborn 8, Stebbins 1: Ezra Gumbert put together a four goal performance and Adam Laamri added three goals for Fairborn in its season opener.

Troy 8, Sidney 2: Zachary Bridge recorded three goals and Caden Stoltz tacked on two to lead Troy.

Talawanda 8, Eaton 0: Noel Albarran finished with two goals and two assists while Sam Hogan and Evan Ruehl split on the shutout for Talawanda.

Franklin 3, Valley View 0: Tito Harrison scored all three goals and Brady Lucas tallied a 14-save shutout for Franklin.

Calvary Christian 6, Indian Lake 0: Cale and Graham Buchenroth tallied two goals apiece and Brody Prall completed the shutout for Calvary Christian.

Girls Soccer

Lakota West 3, Ursuline Academy 1: The win bumped West to 2-0.

Brookville 3, Edgewood 2: Nyla Cash chipped in two goals and Kinley Kummer added a goal and an assist to pace Brookville.

Eaton 3, Talawanda 1: Adie Heggs netted two goals and Myla Roberts had a goal and an assist for Eaton.

Boys Golf

Fenwick 164, Alter 176, Chaminade Julienne 178, Carroll 179: Nolan Mulligan carded a three-over-par 39 to help Fenwick win the quad match.
