Pine Grove’s Jamie Dinger, One of the Schuylkill League’s top pitchers, has made her college decision.
The two-time state champion will continue her softball career at Elizabethtown College. Dinger plans to study occupational therapy while pitching for the Blue Jays.
Last spring as a junior, Dinger helped lead Pine Grove to its second-straight state championship, pitching in 23 games and collecting a 15-2 record. In 107 innings pitched, she struck out 128 while walking 17. She allowed just 12 earned runs on the season.
In the state championship game against Sharon, Dinger struck out eight and allowed just one run on three hits and a walk in 6.1 innings.
Dinger also pitched all 13-innings of the 2025 Class 3A state championship game against Bald Eagle, helping lead the Cardinals to victory.
She also had a career year at the plate, hitting .375/.407/.542 with three home runs, five doubles, and one triple while driving in 24.
Dinger will enter the 2027 season next spring as one of the Schuylkill League’s top talents and will look to add to her impressive resume, which includes a 35-6 record and a 0.98 ERA in 277 innings pitched.
She’s not the only key returning talent returning for Pine Grove either, as the Cardinals eye becoming just the second softball team in Pennsylvania history to win three straight championships. Seniors also slated to return next fall include fellow pitcher Chelcy Clark, a Monmouth commit, along with second baseman Lily Flynn and third baseman Meadow Umbenhauer.
