Former New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Zxavian Harris committed to LSU on Monday. Harris previously played college football at Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin and will reunite with his former coach in Baton Rouge, just like Dae’Quan Wright.

However, former LSU standout Breiden Fehoko was quick to criticize the development, launching a scathing rant against his alma mater.

The 2026 NFL Draft passed on Harris, but he was signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent and was cut early in fall camp. His LSU move comes after a court ruling in Louisiana last week made 16 players from the class of 2022 eligible to return, even if they had already moved on to the NFL.

LSU has been among the programs taking advantage of the ruling, and Kiffin defended the Tigers’ decision to recruit players from the 2022 class.

Kiffin explained on Monday that, given the court’s decision, those players will either play for LSU or suit up for another program somewhere in the country. As a result, he said he chose to recruit them, adding that “probably most people” would make the same decision.

However, Fehoko, who was part of the Tigers team that won the 2020 National Championship, has voiced his frustration with the program’s approach.

“I’m so cool off this [expletive]. I want LSU to win, but this ain’t the way. I’m really all the way cool off this [expletive]. I got no respect for Lane and this staff doing it this way. I don’t care if the “rules” allow it. Integrity/amateurism all gotta count for something,” Fehoko tweeted.

Harris played all 15 games for Ole Miss last season as the Rebels made an incredible run in the College Football Playoff. After Kiffin left for LSU, Pete Golding led Ole Miss to defeat Tulane and Georgia during its postseason journey before ultimately losing to Miami in the CFP semifinal.

Harris finished the season with 58 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, and an interception. His production earned him an 80.4 PFN DT Impact grade, placing him 36th nationally.

The Tigers have an agreement in place to add former Ole Miss tight end Dae’Quan Wright once he clears waivers in the NFL. He wasn’t selected in the recent draft but initially signed a free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles before making his way to the Cleveland Browns.

Todd Monken’s team waived him on Monday after he suited up but did not play in their second preseason game.

Kiffin, meanwhile, has already transformed LSU’s roster ahead of his first season in Baton Rouge, bringing in more than 40 transfers. That group includes players such as Sam Leavitt.

However, the Tigers’ willingness to pursue players like Harris, who have already entered the professional ranks, has drawn criticism from several quarters.
