‘I Was So Harsh on This Kid Before’ — Former Chargers DT Admits He Was Wrong About Bo Nix, Predicts Top-10 Finish

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

Bo Nix is going to enter his third NFL season, and there are growing expectations around what he can accomplish in Denver. Now, even one of his former critics is taking a different view after watching the quarterback work behind a strong Denver Broncos offensive line.

The change in opinion brings fresh attention to the pressure on Nix as he looks to take the next step.

Breiden Fehoko Predicts Bo Nix Can Break Into NFL’s Top 10

Former Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko did a U-turn when he revisited his opinion of Nix. After watching the Broncos quarterback during the preseason, Fehoko acknowledged he had been too critical and now believes Nix has a legitimate path toward becoming a top-10 quarterback.

“Look at that pocket man. My goodness. I was so harsh on this kid before, but he’s legit a top-15 QB in the league and will probably move into the top 10 when the season is done,” Fehoko wrote on X.

Fehoko’s praise centered on the protection Nix received in the pocket. He followed up by pointing to Denver’s investment in its offensive line, writing, “This is the pocket you get when you spend money on the offensive line.”

This protection could prove crucial as Nix prepares for his third NFL season. The Broncos are bringing back their starting offensive line, which PFN’s Jacob Infante has ranked 6th entering 2026. Infante also remarked that, “If Nix continues to develop, it’s entirely possible the Broncos make it to the Super Bowl this year.”

Nix clearly has plenty of production to build on from last season. He started all 17 games in 2025 and finished with 3,931 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also added 356 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.

His passing total ranked eighth in the NFL, while his touchdown total tied for ninth with stars like Josh Allen. Those numbers give Fehoko’s prediction some context, especially with Denver adding more talent around its quarterback.

The Broncos, who were placed 22nd in PFN NFL Offensive Impact%20assigns,red%20zone%20and%20third%20downs.) for 2025, have further boosted Nix’s supporting cast with Jaylen Waddle joining Courtland Sutton. That combination gives Nix two dangerous receiving options while he continues developing in Sean Payton’s offense.

Nix is also coming off a fractured ankle that ended his previous playoff run. His return to preseason action provided an encouraging sign, as he looked comfortable moving around the pocket and delivering throws.

Still, breaking into the NFL’s top 10 will require Nix to perform against a difficult schedule.

Denver opens the regular season at Kansas City on September 14 and later faces the Chiefs again, along with the Rams, 49ers, Bills, and Chargers.

Fehoko has already moved Nix into his top 15. If the quarterback can stay healthy and build on his 2025 production, the top-10 prediction may not seem nearly as bold by season’s end.
