ICC women’s T20I team rankings: Updated table ahead of Sri Lanka vs Pakistan series

Sri Lanka and Pakistan were both knocked out of the group stage in the T20 World Cup that concluded earlier this month. Sri Lanka stunned New Zealand and also registered wins over Ireland and Scotland, but losses to the West Indies and England meant they couldn’t make it to the semifinals.

Sri Lanka have shuffled their squad for the series against Pakistan while also keeping their core intact. They have called up U19 players Sanjana Kavindi and Chamudi Praboda while 19-year-old pacer Rashmika Sewwandi has also been recalled. The rest of their squad remains largely the same and they will hope to end their 11-year winless run against Pakistan in a bilateral T20I series.

Meanwhile, Pakistan were extremely poor in the World Cup, winning only one out of their five matches. Their only win came against the Netherlands in their last group game when both teams had already been knocked out of the tournament. 

Pakistan will miss their dynamic captain Fatima Sana as she has been granted NOC to miss the series to play in The Hundred. Muneeba Ali will lead a new-look T20I squad with three uncapped players - Eman Naseer, Maham Anees and Momina Riasat. Najiha Alvi, Umm-e-Hani and Waheeda Akhtar have also been recalled, while senior players Aliya Riaz, Iram Javed and Diana Baig have been dropped after the World Cup.

As for the rankings, Sri Lanka are currently placed sixth with 238 rating points, while Pakistan are sitting in eighth position with 210 rating points.
