According to Bama247's Brett Greenberg and Alex Scarborough, Alabama Crimson Tide running back AK Dear is set to reportedly miss extended time with a lower leg injury.

Dear went down with an injury Thursday during the Crimson Tide's first scrimmage of fall camp. It is not expected to be season-ending, per reports.

One of the top running backs in the 2025 recruiting cycle, Dear enters his sophomore season projected to be one of Alabama's top rushers this fall. Dear appeared in five games last year as a true freshman, rushing for 140 yards and three touchdowns on 19 attempts, while also hauling in three receptions for 18 yards.

Looking ahead to Week 1, Daniel Hill and Kevin Riley will remain as Alabama's top options at running back, while true freshmen EJ Crowell and Trae'shawn Brown could each see increased time early in the season.

The Crimson Tide will open the season at home against East Carolina on Sept. 5.
