Ohio doesn't have the most decorated history in the Little League World Series. West Side is attempting to change that reputation in the 2026 tournament, though.

The Hamilton-based side has captured its home state's attention during a glittering run to the U.S. championship. With two more wins, West Side can make history in youth baseball's greatest competition — and end an unenviable streak for one of the sport's more consequential locations.

With that, here's what you need to know about the Great Lakes representative at this year's Little League World Series, West Side.

Ohio roster at 2026 Little League World Series

West Side's roster is made up of 12 players. The Hamilton-based side is anchored by its star pitcher, 6-1 right-hander Josiah Infante.

Infante has quietly emerged as one of this year's tournament's best aces, surrendering just two hits across five innings of work. Shortstop/pitcher Boone Treadway has also proven valuable, collecting a tournament-record 10 walks thus far.

West Side is helmed by Timothy Nichting. A former minor leaguer who played in the Expos' farm system as a catcher, the Hamilton native has been a Little League volunteer for 43 years, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

West Side cruised through its district and state championship, landing a spot in the Great Lakes regional. The swept aside all comers in the Whitestown, Indiana tournament, advancing to the Little League World Series after outscoring its foes 38-8.

Ohio has looked good value in the LLWS, having downed all but one of its opponents in the tournament thus far. A 6-5 loss to Paseo Verde on Aug. 21 was less than ideal. But the Hamilton bunch stormed back with commanding wings against the New England, Southwest and Metro representatives.

Ohio has yet to claim a Little League World Series title. West Side did appear in a championship tilt, though, advancing to the 2021 title game before falling to Taylor North (Michigan) in the final.
