Inter make their move for another Liverpool player after sealing £30m Curtis Jones deal

Federico Chiesa, 28, signed for the Reds back in 2024 from Juventus for an overall fee of around £12.5m. It’s been a frustrating stint on Merseyside for the Italy international - who commands a sizeable reported wage of £150k per week.

Although the winger can count himself as a Premier League title winner he has had to settle for a bit-part role at Anfield. Chiesa hasn’t apparently won over Andoni Iraola in preseason and looks set for the exit so long as Liverpool’s demands are met.

Inter are set to sell Brazilian Luis Henrique to Roma for a fee of around €25m - opening the door for Cristian Chivu to sign a replacement.

And according to Inter reporter Fabio Bergomi it is Chiesa who has been identified as a potential replacement.

“Chiesa could be the one who goes in place of Luis Henrique, if Luis Henrique accepts Roma, as seems to be the case,” he tells his YouTube audience.

“So I would narrow it down to Chiesa, because perhaps in the end they close Chiesa and he is plausible.”

Chiesa made only two Premier League starts under Arne Slot last season and failed to convince in either outing. He has been absent from training in the buildup to the 20-time English champions’ season opener against Newcastle.

But it’s understood that absence has nothing to do with his current transfer status and instead Chiesa has been hampered by another injury.

Let’s wait and see whether Inter come back and complete the second half of a Liverpool double deal with the acquisition of the Euro 2020 winner to join Jones.
