Inter Milan agree deal to sign Curtis Jones from Liverpool

Italian Champions Inter Milan have agreed a €35 million fee with Liverpool for midfielder Curtis Jones.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal has been agreed between Liverpool and Inter Milan for Curtis Jones, with the fee expected to be around €35 million. It will cost the Italian side a similar price as the deal that brought Djed Spence to the club a couple of weeks ago.

Discussion between the clubs regarding the transfer of Curtis Jones have been ongoing for months. Inter’s interest in the midfielder dates back to the January window where it was reported that they were keen to bring Jones to Milan on loan with an option to buy, but the deal fell through.

With persistent rumours ongoing throughout the summer window, it appears that Inter Milan have finally got their man, with the Englishman set to travel for his medical in the coming days.

The deal leaves Liverpool a little bit light in numbers in the middle of the pitch, but it remains to be seen whether they will attempt to bring anyone in to replace Jones, or if they will put their trust in players already at the club. Youngster Trey Nyoni has impressed during pre-season and may be in line for a promotion to the first-team, which would see him take the place of the outgoing Jones.

With the signing of Jones, Inter Milan will continue to build an English cohort, having already brought Djed Spence and John Stones to the club earlier in the window.
