Entering his fourth year at Iowa, Hawkeyes running back Kamari Moulton has been named to the 2026 Doak Walker Award watch list.

The award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top college running back, is named for SMU’s three-time All-American running back Doak Walker.

The 5-foot-9, 211-pounder from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., led Iowa in rushing in 2026 with 170 carries for 878 yards and five rushing scores. Moulton averaged 5.2 yards per carry and garnered honorable mention All-Big Ten status. The Cardinal Gibbons product was also voted to serve on Iowa's leadership council last year and this season.

The PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors will name 10 semifinalists in November, and three finalists, as voted on by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee, will also be announced in November.

The committee will cast a second vote in December to determine the recipient. The National Selection Committee includes past recipients, former NFL All-Pro and college All-America running backs, media members, and selected special representatives. The recipient of the 2026 Doak Walker Award will be announced on Dec. 10, 2026.

Former Hawkeye Shonn Greene won the award in 2008, while Kaleb Johnson was a finalist in 2024 and Albert Young was a semifinalist in 2005.

Iowa opens the 2026 season on Sept. 5 at Kinnick Stadium by hosting Northern Illinois. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m. CT.
