Is Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones playing today against the New England Patriots?
Following Tuesday's joint practice, head coach Shane Steichen said that Jones would not be playing at all during the preseason.
Considering that he is coming off a major injury -- not to mention that many starters around the NFL don't see any preseason action -- this does not come as a surprise.
Instead, Anthony Richardson will start and play the first half, with Riley Leonard then taking over in the second half. Next week against Atlanta, their roles will flip, with Leonard getting the start.
Jones did take part in the Colts vs. Patriots joint practice on Tuesday, and by all accounts, he performed well. This included leading a two-minute scoring drive to end practice.
"I thought he looked great," Shane Steichen said afterward, via Colts.com. "He did a lot of good things."
Despite coming off an Achilles injury, the consensus throughout training camp seems to be that Jones hasn't missed a beat since returning to the practice field.
