Lamar Jackson, during his time in Baltimore, has not always had an elite, reliable security blanket type of pass catcher. At times, it has been Mark Andrews, and at times it has been Zay Flowers. Right now in training camp, a consistent target has been a third-round NFL draft rookie from USC. In a recent tweet, Carita Parks provides insight into what the most important people in the Baltimore Ravens' building are feeling and thinking about former USC Trojan Ja’Kobi Lane. Here is what the Ravens are saying about Lane:
"Last week I asked Lamar Jackson about Ja’Kobi Lane. He was impressed, but wanted to see him in pads.
Pads are on & Lane is ballin’.
Jesse Minter told me he & Lamar discussed throwing Lane the ball in different situations “just to see.”
“Every play he makes, that trust grows.”
Lamar Jackson has a weapon in Zay Flowers who makes plays, but he does still, within all his talent, leave more to be desired. Mark Andrews is getting older, and Rashod Bateman has struggled with consistency. More and more, Lane is becoming a weapon that Lamar can trust, and pretty soon this connection in training camp can ultimately turn into a lethal connection during the season.
